I want to make sure that I keep “the Climb” in perspective. Paul@Farnielegend’s in “My Perspective- july18th 2015” makes my journey to the top of Kilimanjaro very clear.
Quote- For me the word ‘disease’ I associate with a bite/sting/airborne virus . Maybe that’s just me. It is what it is., though, and I’ve learned to understand the disease, but I could’nt ever understand the day to day mechanics of it. It’s a science in itself! No cure (yet). Variety of drugs. Every individual different. Coping, Learning, Understanding.
What is evident is that there are plenty of people who are UNFORTUNATE enough to be part of this disease, all looking for answers that you can’t find in the library. An extremely difficult reality to perceive from a ‘dopamine rich person’ like me. All the same, I am in awe of all these folk who (on the surface) appear to take this lifelong battle in their stride.
We need more awareness. We need medication. We need more bloody self controlled movement- end quote.
Parkinsons… There you have it. My 24/7 companion who’s only cause is to take over my self controlled body. Kilimanjaro, 8 team Fox, 33 quides and porters bring awareness and funding to find a cure.
Our goal: To climb the most difficult route, for two of us who have Parkinsons to document the effects. To raise $80,000.00. To date we need another $20,000.00. Visit www.michaeljfox.org for more details.
Now the journey can begin……….
