Flew home from Portland Oregon last night and yep my Buddy Parkinson is my constant companion….. Parkinson was NOT a good travel companion. One thing about Parkinson’s is you never know when and for what reason it decides to really give you a hard time. So, here I was sitting on the plane, a five hour trip back to Florida and my right leg and arm decide to shoot out, spasm and shake. Keep in mind I had taken my 2’oclock medication on time so I should be ok but NO!!!! Parkinson has a mind of its own. I decide to get up and ask the attendant if I can stretch, breath, walk it off in the galley. I take emergency dose because my right foot starts turning in which makes it hard to walk and stretch.
After 15min Parkinson decides to ease up on me and allows me to sit down, put my head down, close my eyes, breath and relax……..then “good evening this is your Captain, all passengers and crew must take their seats BUCKLE UP, GET READY FOR A VERY BUMPY RIDE, we have encountered a storm which will take 45min to get through”. Between Parkinson and the storm travel home was very interesting to say the least. It was good to get home.
Lots of great memories. Parkinson my constant companion but every day I learn something new to not allow the inconvience to control me….. I am in control.
